About

Venerable John Paramai Dhanissaro (Supadulchai), normally referred to as “Luang Phi John”, was born on August 25th, 1979 in Bangkok. He received both his Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Engineering from Chulalongkorn University and the Asian Institute of Technology respectively. In 2003 he furthered his studies and completed his PhD in Telematics in Norway.
In 2005 he became greatly inspired by meditation, and has been involved in projects that teach meditation to international audiences and encourage them to discover the inner peace within themselves. He supported these projects by designing, developing and coding a self-development programme, and created an online platform that helps people balance their busy lifestyles and digital behaviours. That platform has served more than 130,000 people from 235 countries and territories.
After completing his PhD in January 2008, Luang Phi John ordained as a Theravada Buddhist monk and was invited to join Peace Revolution as a meditation instructor. He has taught an online meditation programme including Moonfest — free online meditation held twice a month — and on-demand sessions, with over 10,000 people from 123 countries attending in total. He has taught in 40 fellowship programmes, along with many workshops and retreats conducted by Peace Revolution across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean, in 70 countries.
